11.09.2021 Environment-educational international campaign “Clean Beach”

The international environmental campaign “Clean Beach” is one of the largest public environmental education campaigns in St. Petersburg.

Campaign “Clean Beach” will be organized by the initiative of the the Committee for Environment and Environmental Protection of St. Petersburg via coordination by State company “Mineral”.

For the first time, the international environmental campaign “Clean Beach” was held in 2014 as part of the international project “The Year of the Gulf of Finland”. Traditionally, the action is organized in parallel in the cities of the Baltic Sea region (Helsinki, Turku, Tallinn and others). This event is not just about cleaning up beaches by volunteers but about education and raising public awareness of the Baltic Sea and freshwater and environment issues; and giving people a good opportunity to make a difference to the environmental well-being of the shore through involving and extension of voluntary networks and international cooperation for common Baltic sea area.

Date: Saturday, September 11, 2021

Venue: Tarkhovka village, Kurortny district, St. Petersburg

Time: 10.00-17:20

A transfer will be organized for the participants from the metro station Begovaya to the place of the action and back, and a field kitchen will be work on the site.

Participation is free of charge. Registration is required.

The event is held by forming teams. Team must have from 15 to 20 participants.
