We would like to invite you to the annual research seminar
“Industry change driven by firms’ actions”
organized by SSE Russia on
December 13 at 11:00-12:00 at our class in St. Petersburg on Shevdsky lane, 1.

The event will be conducted by Dr. Jukka Pekka Bergman, Lappeenranta University of Technology

The seminar will be dedicated to the study, that investigates how continuous and fast industry change creates major challenges for firms to renew their strategies and sustain their competitive advantage. It suggests that the changes in firms’ collective beliefs of market boundaries drive the industry change. The authors investigate firms´ beliefs of the future technologies to recognize development patterns in the collective belief structures and propose an approach to indicate the industry change. Further, the study recognizes the importance of social networks of the management for understanding the future industry changes. The study is based on cleantech industry in Finland.

Professor Jukka-Pekka Bergman holds a DSc (Tech), MSc (ICT), MA (Linguistics), and BSc (Civil Eng.). Besides his position as adjunct professor at LUT, he also worked as managing director of Lappeenranta Innovation Ltd., business director of Hamina Town and dept. managing director in industrial company HSL Group Oy. He is a co-founder and board member of a renewable energy company One1 Oy.
