Spring comes slowly to our northern city. Everyone is trying to get as much as possible done before the May holidays. And very soon the white nights will be here as well as our romantic boat cruise “Chasing the dream”… Have you already got a dream? …

SPIBA constantly monitors the rapidly developing technologies that are designed to make our lives and working processes easier! On April 3 the HR Committee held a meeting on the topic «On-line / E-Recruitment: Opportunities and Prospects.” Participants of the meeting learned how to have a conversation with the candidate and to ask questions before the interview stage, which new online resources a recruiter may use – all this, as well as the situation on the Internet labor market.

Also on April 3 we held a meeting with the management of Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region. Representatives of major production companies asked relevant questions related to the activities of Rospotrebnadzor to Alexander Meltzer, deputy chief state sanitary doctor of St. Petersburg, and Valery Nowatsky, deputy chief state sanitary doctor of the Leningrad region. We thank the management of Rospotrebnadzor for a constructive dialogue, during which were covered in detail such important issues as sanitary-protection zones, and many others.

April 5 as part of Look @ It tour we visited the Imperial Porcelain Factory, one of the oldest porcelain factories in Europe. In every St. Petersburg family you can see porcelain artworks made on this factory. We had the unique opportunity to get acquainted with the production of porcelain in a modern shop, to watch the hand-painting on porcelain, to know what is the difference between a bone china, hard and soft porcelain, as well as to meet with top management of the company. Also we visited the museum of porcelain, which now is a part of the Hermitage collection. On exposition are items from the 18th century to the works of the Soviet era.

April 19 the final conference of the international project “Strengthening anti-corruption measures in the North-West of Russia” was held in Murmansk. The conference covered issues such as raising awareness of corruption risks and their negative impact on business and government, to provide a forum for dialogue between business and government the Nordic countries and NW Russia, and exchange of experience and knowledge to fight the corruption.

April 23 SPIBA HR Committee organized an event on non-material motivation. Speakers shared their experiences on motivation of their employees, talked about non-standard approaches and solutions and the results.

April 26 was organized the regular business meeting with Maxim Oreshkin, head of the Analytical Department of Credit Agricole Russia and CIS. We hold a meeting with Maxim once every six months to get the most relevant information and forecasts for the near future about the state of the economy in Russia. Maxim has analyzed the state of not only the Russian economy, but also the situation in the world, the relationship between global economic processes and gave us a fairly optimistic forecast for the next six months!

So, my friends, we started our preparation for our traditional White Nights Boat cruise. Please send us your suggestions. Good luck!
