Press release

October 3, 2018 – Global law firm Dentons has launched the Russia Legal Innovations Laboratory (the Lab), a unique initiative which aims to develop and implement innovative technologies in the legal sector.

The Lab will focus primarily on:

Developing and implementing innovative legal and administrative automation solutions

Cooperating with prospective Russian legal tech startups

Adapting foreign technology solutions for the Russian market

Providing consulting services in applying new technologies

Creating innovative legal services and products

“We follow a systems approach to resolving any tasks. This is why the creation of a legal tech competencies center in Russia is the logical result of our previous work in this area. The Lab will unite the experience of our lawyers in supporting innovation projects, including structuring business processes, automating management of intangible assets and financial modeling of legal risks, with the best technical solutions in automating legal work. This will create a new dimension for developing legal practice in the future,” says Victor Naumov, head of Russia IP, IT and Telecommunications practice, which is home to the Lab.

Counsel Andrey Neznamov, who will head the Dentons Russia Legal Innovations Laboratory, commented on the creation of the Lab: Over the last two years, our team has handled a number of projects to automate legal functions. We are already testing and implementing solutions to automate legal work in our offices thanks to high quality technical training and active cooperation with Russian developers. Dentons has a number of serious advantages in this area, including our scale, industry coverage, the high qualifications of our lawyers, and our experience cooperating with the largest companies in Russia and the world. We have the unique opportunity to develop high quality legal tech solutions in the Lab, with the goal of then applying them in Russia and around the world.”
