Dentons: Olga Uriupinskaya rejoins Dentons’ St. Petersburg team

Press Release

St. Petersburg, November 15, 2021 – Olga Uriupinskya has rejoined Dentons’ St. Petersburg team to act as senior project adviser in the Real Estate and Construction practice after a five-year break. Between 2016 and 2020 she advised a private UK fund on managing its assets in Russia, including providing full legal support for the operations of a class A+ logistics complex in St. Petersburg.

Olga has extensive experience advising international and Russian clients on real estate, foreign investment and corporate law. She focuses on structuring and providing full-scope legal support for real estate and land transactions, including new construction projects, expansion and reconstruction of existing industrial, warehouse and retail space, asset management, urban zoning, and complex bank financing. Olga also drafts contracts for the sale and lease of industrial and warehouse facilities, mixed-use office and shopping centers, and logistics complexes.

In addition to the Real Estate practice, Olga will develop the new Wine law practice area in Dentons’ St. Petersburg office. She holds unique French business degrees: an MBA in Wine & Spirits Business awarded by the Burgundy School of Business in 2020, a  European Union Wine Law certificate obtained from Université de Reims Champagne Ardenne in 2018, and she also won the FIVS-Abridge Global Wine Academic Competition in 2019.  Wine law has great development potential in Russia considering the active investment in the wine industry and ever improving regulation of winegrowing and the making of high-quality Russian wines, not to mention protection of geographical indications and appellations of origin. Olga is a recommended lawyer in M&A, Real Estate and Construction in Russia in 2014-2016 according to the Best Lawyers international rating.

Dentons Partner Karina Chichkanova said that “The return of such a professional as Olga to our team is an important event for us, especially now that the market is clearly recovering after the pandemic. She has impressive real estate and construction experience that is, more importantly, in demand among our clients. Now that she has rejoined us, one of the things we will be able to do is launch an entirely new practice area for the Russian market.”

Olga Uriupinskaya: “I am very glad to return to Dentons’ St. Petersburg Real Estate and Construction practice. This field has always been my priority. The team is made up of wonderful practitioners, each of whom is a seasoned professional. It will be particularly interesting to also develop Wine law in Russia together. I am happy that I will be able to use the knowledge and skills I have acquired in Europe.”
