Exhibition «SALVADOR DALÍ. Atomic Leda and Other Representations of GALA» @Fabergé Museum
18.10.2021 @ 16:00 - 18:00
Dear colleagues!
SPIBA Quality of life Committee continues series of events under the theme SPIBA Cultural Discoveries which are devoted to the cultural heritage of Saint-Petersburg, significant events and outstanding creative personalities, and invites you to the exhibition «SALVADOR DALÍ. Atomic Leda and Other Representations of GALA» at Fabergé Museum. Date: Monday, October 18th, 2021 Time: 16:00 – 18:00 Guest gathering at 15:45 Venue: Fabergé Museum, 21 Fontanka emb. The event is free of charge. The event is open for SPIBA members only. The number of seats is limited! The exhibition features a unique selection of Dalí’s paintings and drawings representing his wife and muse Gala. Most of them come from the artist’s own collection – he considered them so valuable that he wanted to keep them and to exhibit permanently in his Theatre-Museum in Figueres. Dalí admired Gala and throughout his career as a painter had created a vast mythology apotheosizing her as his personal Daemon. Her many disguises – Leda and Helen, Gradiva and Galarina – refer to the well-known Ancient and classical European narratives and at the same time reflect Dalí’s personal artistic metamorphosis. The meeting will be held in Russian. Please confirm your participation by email office@spiba.ru until October 14th, 2021. Wearing masks is mandatory.
