Business Description: Hyundai Motor Company is the largest Korean automaker, one of the leaders of the world automotive industry. In 2010 the Company launched its own plant in St. Petersburg. “Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus” (“HMMR”) is the second largest carmaker in Russian Federation and the largest in the North-West region. Car manufacturing process is carried out within a full cycle mode: stamping, welding, painting and assembly. More than 2300 work places have been created at the plant.
Activities: Since 2012, the plant has reached full production capacity and annually produces more than 200 000 cars. The enterprise operates in three production shifts five days a week; about 1000 cars roll off the assembly line of the plant every working day. In February 2020 the plant released the car # 2 000 000. The company also exports cars to the CIS countries. “HMMR” plant has proved itself as a socially responsible enterprise. Employees of the plant regularly participate in environmental and social activities.
Products/Services: HMMR produces 3 models of cars-Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta, KIA Rio, which are consistently in high demand and are among the top 5 sales leaders in the Russian automotive market.
Hyundai Solaris model earned the title “Car of the Year” in Russia five times in a row – from 2012 to 2016. Second generation of the model, presented in February 2017, scored 16 points out of 16 possible according to the results of the “Autoreview” crash test, which corresponds to the maximum four stars, and topped the ARCAP rating, the first Russian independent rating of passive vehicles’ safety.
Compact crossover Hyundai Creta, introduced in the Russian market in 2016, won in two nominations of the “Car of the Year – 2017” award – “Compact SUVs” and “Novelties”. In 2017, Hyundai Creta also became the leader in the nomination “Compact crossovers” of the Grand Prix “Za rulem”.
KIA Rio model won in the nomination “The most popular car in Russia” following the results of the Grand Prix “Za rulem” award in 2018.
