The St. Petersburg International Business Association (SPIBA)
is an independent non-profit organization that unites foreign and Russian companies sharing and supporting its mission and principles.
SPIBA's mission is to be a business navigator and support its members in developing their businesses in Northwestern Russia through the exchange of information and experiences, open dialogue with government authorities, and establishing business contacts in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
SPIBA was established in 1995 as a result of the merger of two business associations in St. Petersburg. The founders — Charles Lee Voss, Glenn Colini, William Scott Crane, Christian Denis Courbois, Olga Litvinova, and Christopher Yuet — aimed to create a business community that would support companies in establishing ethical business standards and drawing attention to the challenges they face.
2003: Participation in the adoption of Federal Law No. 163539-3 «On Amendments to Article 21 of the Russian Federation Law 'On the Basics of the Tax System.'»2004: The Governor of St. Petersburg signed the law proposed by SPIBA «On Amendments to the Laws on Corporate Property Tax and Tax Benefits.»2015: SPIBA was awarded an honorary certificate for protecting entrepreneurs' rights and actively participating in improving legislation for business.2017: SPIBA developed the «Green Code» Concept, which was adopted at the meeting of the Standing Commission on Ecology and Natural Resources Management.
Today, SPIBA is one of the leading business associations in the region, uniting over 110 Russian and international organizations, as well as diplomatic and trade missions. The Association continues it's mission to enhance the business climate in St. Petersburg, supports communication and knowledge exchange among companies, and strengthens collaboration with government authorities.

The Association's daily operations, including event organization and liaison with government bodies and member companies, are managed by a dedicated team.
SPIBA committees are comprised of professionals from member companies specializing in diverse sectors and business areas. These committees formulate event agendas and initiate discussions on current industry issues.
